Great to finally start writing the Blog page for the academy.

It seems that looking around the web this week, there has been lot’s of uncertainty about whether extra curricular music teaching should be happening in this second lockdown of the Corona virus pandemic 2020.

Playing music and having music lessons really does help us get through these testing times. Some return to normality or “the norm” as people put it is key to a happy balance of our weekly routine as musicians. Practicing Scales and Arpeggios, Playing songs old and new, Practicing rudiments, sight reading, exam prep and even blowing the dust off Christmas books and sheet music in time for the next holidays.

I’m glad to see that the majority of people agree with this and that private music teachers and music teaching schools and teaching services have this time been able to remain open. A big thumbs up to you all. I know many music teachers have put lots of time and money to make their teaching surroundings Covid safe and that parents are glad to see this happening.

Stay virus free and bye for now.

The past week has been a busy week for us all at the academy. We found ourselves knee deep in Christmas decorations and lights once again to give our music school a little festive magic.

Christmas carols and songs are starting to be heard coming from all our teaching rooms as pupils start practising in time to play for loved ones over the festive holidays.

This coming week see’s the start of filming one of our academy pupils playing a Christmas classic for Youtube and for our website. Watch out for that one!

Keep safe everyone and remember your PPE.
